Two of Hong Kong's most accomplished chefs swap kitchens to create never-before-seen menus

Sharing a deep affinity for the complexities of French cuisine, chefs Vicky Cheng of VEA and Caprice's Guillaume Galliot have nonetheless established their own distinct styles within the realm of French gastronomy, with Cheng creating a unique hybrid of French-Chinese cooking that won him Tatler Dining's Chef of the Year title in 2019; meanwhile, Galliot's focus on French savoir-faire has given Caprice an uninterrupted run on the prestigious Tatler Dining 20 list since 2013.

Now, in Tatler Dining's latest limited-time dinner series, the two chefs bid each other “bonjour from the other side” as they pop up at each others’ restaurants for two nights over the month of August in a showcase of culinary excellence and camaraderie. Inspired by their shared love for home-cooked meals that bring comfort and joy, each night will bring an all-new menu in a departure from their usual culinary styles.

Expect a unique style of collaboration that's a world apart from your usual four-hands dinner, as Cheng and Galliot reinterpret each other's signature dishes, co-create all-new dishes, as well as challenge the other to build a dish around an ingredient of their choosing.
