Watch-lovers throughout Hong Kong came together for an interactive session at Landmark’s Ami this June for a preview of Vacheron Constantin's 2023 novelties and Less'ential heritage collection

On June 6, Landmark and Tatler joined hands to host an exclusive GMT Watch Club ahead of the much-anticipated Tatler GMT launch. Hidden away inside Ami’s cosy lounge and dining room, the city’s most discerning watch collectors and horology enthusiasts gathered for an evening of cocktails, canapés, and an exclusive preview of Vacheron Constantin’s 2023 novelties.

Despite the rain, industry experts like Federico Tan and Jackie Ho were in attendance, alongside members of the community never featured in Tatler.

Guests were greeted with welcome drinks and smoked salmon blinis before Tatler’s watches and jewellery editor, Amrita Katara took the mic. Introducing renowned watch collector Lung Lung Thun, Katara opened the night with a casual conversation about Thun’s journey from securities brokerage to haute horology.

Shortly after the sharing session, Thun surprised guests with a fun quiz on Vacheron Constantin, with questions so detailed that it had even the most avid collectors stumped, including the fact that the maison’s infamous motto, “Do better if possible, and that is always possible”, was originally quoted from François Constantin on July 5, 1819. Attendees also learnt that the brother of François Constantin, Abraham, brought Vacheron Constantin to the attention of European high society—an official painter of the French court, he created ornamental motifs that elegantly accentuated precious bracelets for the house.

Alongside a display of the Less’ential heritage collection, the night proceeded with many Instagram moments and photos of the newest timepieces, intimately presented by Vacheron Constantin in the private dining room.

A simple end to an exclusive evening, guests once again ventured out into the rain—many coming together in search of a late dinner, solidifying the genuine camaraderie that exists amid the high-end watch-loving community.
